Hippolyte Dussauce papers

Abstract

The Hippolyte Dussauce Papers reflect the life and work of the chemist during the years of 1860-1869. The papers include letters of inquiry from chemists, inventors, druggists and others to Dussauce for formulae and advice. Several copy books kept by Dussauce reflect his responses to some of these inquiries. The correspondence section also contains the letters of Henry Carey Baird, Dussauce's publisher, to Dussauce.

The Pentagram Press was founded in 1974 by the Milwaukee-based poet Michael Tarachow as a publishing outlet for poetry and other new literature. The Pentagram Press archive, spanning the dates 1972-1999, documents the operations and output of the small fine press run by Michael Tarachow in Milwaukee and Markesan, in Wisconsin, and Minneapolis.

A native of Wilmington, Delaware, artist, illustrator, and author Katharine Pyle (1863-1938), achieved recognition through her short stories, poems, and plays for children. The Katharine Pyle papers, spanning approximately 1904–1929, consists of material related to her artistic, business, and personal affairs.
